THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY, BY
SATGURU SWAMI SHANTI PRAKASH JI MAHARAJ
|
(1)
Ram Naam is all Powerful, it is like Kalp-Varksh (Tree
of Indra´s Paradise) and "Chintamani"
(Fabulous Gem) satisfies each and every desire. Ram Naam
is the means which helps the soul to cross the "Bhavasagar"
(the ocean of wordly desires). Recite God with love and
humility.
(2)
Treat all souls Godlike and serve them selflessly. Desire
for self-enjoyment, while serving others will result in
sorrow.
Do thy service to keep others happy.
(3)
In normal circumstances, if you are blessed with store
of affording, pleasures (Sukhdai-Saamgiri), think that
it is a Trust from God for rendering service to humanity.
However in adverse circumstances if poverty or hardship
befalls, give up the thought for happiness.
(4)
In world-shaped lake, a man-shaped elephanth is held by
crocodile-shaped death. When the man presents his mind-shaped
flower before God, the the Almighty protects the man by
overpowering death-shaped crocodile by the help of "Sudershan
Chakra"
(5)
Just as a pilgrim in the sun finds tranquility under the
soothing shade of a tree, likewise the association of
saints gives peace and tranquility to the soul inflicted
by the heat of wordly worries and obstacles
(6)
He who is conversant with sacred scriptures, reads them
and listens to them is not a Pandit. But real Pandit is
he, who exercises religion, that is to say whose transactions
coincide with scriptures
(7)
Wake up early morning and realize within that by the grace
of God, you are reborn today and make a vow that today
you will not commit sin, that you will do a good deed
today. You will think good and you will keep everyone
happy.
(8)
Just as air carries the fragance of flower to the nose,
likewise servitude and affiliation with saints and sages,
the serene mind spontaneously comes in cum-union with
God
(9)
Satsang (society of Pious mens) is a strong shield for
every human being. In this mundane battle, satsang-shielded
devotee will never be wounded. Attacks of trials and tribulations
wil not effect him. He will always remain secure.
(10)
1) He who looks at vices only is a worthless man
2) He who correctly distinguishes between virtue and vice,
is a normal man
3)He who looks at virtue alone is a noble man.
4) He who recognises little virtue as unique is a pious
man.
5) He who is separate from virtue and vice is a Brahamgiani
(11)
By freeing mind from emotions and by worshipping God with
concentration of mind man will attain salvation. He will
sight God.
(12)
Vairag means no attachment with mortal world. The moment
attachment from mortal world is repulsed
automatically mind will be in cum-union with God
(13)
Just as we go from one place to another, the earlier place
is forgoten. Likewise if we progress towards God we will
be moving far away from this mortal world (sansar) and
we will be hearing God. On one auspicious day God will
embrace us UNTO HIS LAP.
(14)
Give in charity whole heartedly. Whatever you possess
is In Trust. from God. Do not misappropriate the trust
of God.
Do not be miser in returning God given possessions to
His worshippers.
(15)
A true devotee does not think of any one but God. He solemnly
worships God
(16)
Just as child evokes his mother and father with love,
likewise if you evoke God with love,
God will seat you in His lap and offer you nectar to drink
(17)
Asceticism is the garniture of saints and sages. Knowledge
without asceticism is spiritless.
An ascetic lives in the mortal world yet he is above board
(18)
Everyday set-aside sometime from routine duties and meditate
zealously.
Worship God. Detach your mind from ilusion and attach
thyself with God.
(19)
Usefulness of mankind is in working thoughtfully. It is
the unyielding function of Supreme Nature that a worker
or a useful thing is always held in high esteem. Therefore
do not shirk work. Do propitious deed and make the best
of your life.
(20)
If you are desiring to live contented life then do not
look at the faults of others. If any defect is in thyself,
remove it.
(21)
By showing mercy, the mind softens kind hearted man by
steadily doing the deeds of compassion and benevolence
realises the pleasure of being one with Supreme Soul (Atma
Anand)
(22)
In the riches of mortal world, there is no such happiness
as you have thought it to be. Those riches give more pain
than pleasure.
Therefore abandon them and worship God.
(23)
Mata Sita accompanied Shri Rama in exile to serve Him.
She lived happily while serving her Lord. But when she
drifted her mind from that service to desire for golden
deer, she not only faced separation from Shri Rama but
underwent sorrow and misery. Therefore if we also forget
God and run after riches of mortal world, we will be unhappy.
(24)
The mind, no matter how much it may be disturbed, finds
solace in Satsang. A child enjoys happiness in mother´s
lap.
If we also become like children and sit at the Lotus feet
of God, we will be enlightened with happiness.
(25)
Real income is that which is exclusively earned by sweat
and labour. One may be successfuul in embezzlement of
others wealth but it will have to be accounted for with
compound interest before God. Remember, others wealth
is nothing but snake.
(26)
Man should be generous. He is the Trustee of God for whatever
he owns. Generosity is also of many kinds.
Generosity of thoughts, of wealth. Generosity is glittering
ornament of man
(27)
Anger makes the man blind and deaf. Anger affects man´s
mind and body. Anger also obstructs the Path to salvation.
Whenever anger overpowers then promptly drink water or
look thy face in the mirror.
(28)
Many are asleep in the slumber of ignorance. Only when
the perfect spiritual guide imparts words of wisdom, the
man awakes from the slumber of ignorance, recognises his
own self and remains stable in that mental bliss
(29)
Education teaches humbleness and docility. A branch of
a tree which fruit always leans low. More wealthy you
become, be equally humble. Humbleness is the glittering
ornament of a man
(30)
We feel happy when we listen to ills of others. We disturb
our mind with such worthless matters, we are least concerned
with.
Listen to the scriptures of saints and sages, you will
then be in peace and tranquility
(31)
Service of commoner is also service of Shri Rama
Service of humanity is service of progenator
Service of people is servive Lord
Service of sentient being is service of Almighty
Service of oppressed in service of Benefactor
